Natural swimming pool tour - Saturday July 10th

Saturday July 10th, 2010 leaving from Country Pie Pizza in downtown Ashfield, MA at 10:00am.

Come for an introduction to natural swimming pools with host Chris Rawlings of Water House Pools. Learn how native aquatic and emerging wetland plant species are being used to create healthy, chemical-free and environmentally-conscious "living water" pool and pond installations.

Tour two different designs. The first, installed 3 years ago, is a large swimming pond connected to surface water, featuring solar recirculation and dynamic natural rockscapes. The second, built last fall, is a smaller "plunge pool," constructed with a rubber liner and native quarry stone. Located in a pre-existing barn foundation, it uses overflow from a domestic water supply. Discuss a variety of design variations, from rain water harvesting and bog filters, to mechanical /biological filtration, and learn how to select which design is appropriate to your specific site.

Our last natural pool and swimming pond tour was a great success.  The weather cooperated, and we had an overwhelming response to the event.  Thank you to all the people who came to experience first hand what a difference a natural pool can make in the functional and aesthetic value of a home environment.

We have posted a gallery of photos from the event in our Natural Pool and Pond Gallery section.  Enjoy!
